I support the goals of USAging in the management, design and delivery of transportation services for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers. My skills in analysis, research, writing, and editing are focused on two primary projects, the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) and Transportation for All (TP4A).

I strive to understand what motivates the target audience and provide it as efficiently and effectively as possible. As owner and sole proprietor of Brevity, I have conducted research, written, and edited for various clients including Junior Achievement USA, JA of New Mexico, National Seminars, Waterbrook Press, and Biological Sciences Curriculum Studies. My experience includes grant writing; business and economic curriculum development for K-12 students; science and education text editing for primary, secondary, and post-secondary students; and marketing materials. I have operated Brevity either full or part time for more than 14 years.

I support the strategic direction and goals of the organization through fundraising, marketing, and relationship-building throughout the region.

As Executive Director, I reported directly to the CNE Chair and Board of Directors and managed the staff. I held overall strategic and operational responsibility for the implementation of goals and objectives, administration, fundraising, financial management, human resources, and execution of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence’s (CNE) mission to strengthen Southern Colorado's nonprofit sector through leadership and resource development, advocacy, and collaboration.I sought to connect people and organizations with the tools they needed to be successful and achieve their own missions. I represented the nonprofit sector and advocated on its behalf with business and civic leaders, growing the organization from 1.75 to 4 staff and more than doubled membership and revenue. I led a company relocation, including establishing independent HR and IT operations. I initiated a landmark study on the economic impact of nonprofits on the Pikes Peak region. In addition to providing valuable education and training to the sector, I forged strong relationships with funders and community leaders.

Championed Olympic Ideals and Values to educators, Olympic and Paralympic multi-sport organizations, and the general population. Created, promoted, and distributed K-12 Olympic/Paralympic education materials to engage students and athletes in the Olympic Movement. Served as management liaison to a 35-member, multi-sport council of community-based athletic organizations including YMCA of the USA, Boys and Girls Club of America, and BlazeSports. Managed the Olympic Opportunity Fund, a grant program to encourage diversity and growth of Olympic and Paralympic sports at the amateur level. Served as press officer for three sports and editor of the USA Daily at the 2008 Paralympic Games. Created and distributed Real Athletes awareness campaign, including posters, PSAs, fliers, and AV materials; the PSAs alone resulted in 363 million audience impressions in 2008. Wrote articles regularly for Olympic publications.

Assessed business and economic curriculum content needs and developed national curricula for grades K-12. Initiated program development and revision; managed development and writing of all curricula. Provided documentation to align curricula with national and state educational standards. Launched quarterly web-based economic newsletter for middle and high school teachers, enabling current reviews and analysis of business and economic events for 500,000 students. Directed development of web-based lesson plans for an online economic simulation. Produced 12 new curricula increasing JA's market from one million to 3.5 million students. Held various positions from 1990 to 2003 from editor to curriculum director and pursued MBA in international business to bring additional education and skills to the job.
