About Bill Barber
Bill is currently Technical Director working for Cambi, Inc. in North America. Bill is a chartered engineer and environmentalist and holds a PhD and First Class Honours graduate degree in Chemical Engineering. His PhD investigated advanced anaerobic digestion and was awarded from Imperial College, London.Bill has worked in a variety of roles including, research and development, consulting for multi-national companies, technical development and sales for various technologies, and for the UK's largest Water Company, United Utilities where, as a technical advisor, he was part of the team which developed the award winning thermal hydrolysis facility at Davyhulme, the largest plant in Europe. He has worked on projects in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and North America and has acted as a technical advisor for the Asian Development Bank.Bill sits on the review board of several academic journals related to wastewater and sludge management and has himself written numerous peer-reviewed articles. Recently, Bill has written a textbook entitled "Sludge Thermal Hydrolysis: Application and Potential", for the International Water Association (IWA). The textbook is open source and can be downloaded at:https://iwaponline.com/ebooks/book/789/Sludge-Thermal-Hydrolysis-Application-andBill has assisted on developing conferences related to sludge matters and has been invited as a key-note speaker to various global events on the topic.
