My research interests lie primarily in areas of Investigative and Forensic Psychology, in particular real world, high stakes deception. My research programme includes the development of methodological approaches to generate previously unidentified cues to deception, developing and testing multiple-cue approaches to detecting deception in specific contexts, investigating the predictive value of consensus judgements of deception, identifying cues used by accurate deception detectors and strategies that they use to make credibility judgements, developing methodological approaches that addresses issues of ecological validity and contextual focus, and exploring observer decision-making processes when making judgements of credibility.
