About Conan Chua, Phd

Industry experience in immunology and oncology target discovery, designing and performing key assays in early stage programs to assess the druggability of novel proprietary target molecules identified from 23andMe's genetic databases. Additionally participated in IND-enabling studies, characterizing the mechanism of action (MOA) of a late-stage antibody molecule that has potential impact to benefit biomarker strategies for future clinical trials.PhD studies focused on T cell immunology, culminating in the successful optimization of ELISpots measuring virus-specific T cells among chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Coupled with flow cytometry, we phenotyped and functionally characterized virus-specific T cells susceptible to anti-PD-1 blockade across clinical phases of CHB. We additionally performed scRNA-seq analysis and qPCR to identify biomarkers predictive of severe inflammatory hepatitis among patients undergoing nucleoside analogue cessation.
