My duties and responsibilities include:1. Program Development: Identifying funding opportunities; developing, leading and strengthening fundraising strategies and tactics; and responding to major contract/grant opportunities:-Developing winning proposals in collaboration with local teams and TNS regional and/or development divisions; -Liaising with potential funding agencies and donors to acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge about their mission, organization, policies, procedures and key decision-makers; -Managing the proposal writing processes of key opportunities with public/private funding, at the country level; -Coordinating the review and maintenance of project lead summaries, new business pipeline, new business resource prioritization matrix, new business opportunity assessments and other requirements of the new business process;2. Program Management: Supporting the formulation of project strategies and work plans: -Support project implementation and monitoring;-Ensure high-quality start-up of new programs; -Engage as a Mobilization Manager in the program start-up phase;-Assist the project teams in the implementation of relevant components as well as monitor activities relating to TechnoServe Nigeria projects;-Coordinate the timely submission of technical reports by projects and assist with the preparation of charts, graphs, and periodic progress/technical reports;-Support and facilitate knowledge sharing fora, training projects that may be conducted by the team’s technical experts or outsourced as the case may be:-Working with the project teams, assist with the synthesis of lessons learned and creating a database on the same and best practices across projects.

The duties and responsibilities attached to this position include:• Support the Program Director in designing and executing the planned interventions• Lead and facilitate agribusiness component of the technology and knowledge transfer to supported agribusiness companies, focused on business growth plans and technology adoption through training workshops and one-on-one aftercare• Support business growth planning with agribusiness companies, including marketing, situational and opportunity analysis, operational strategy, and financial planning for growth.• Manage a team of Business Advisors and agribusiness training consultants to provide training and support to participating agribusiness owners• Provide guidance in training material revision; analyze training needs and tailor and improve curricula as needed• Support Business Advisors in recruiting and screening agribusiness companies• Identify with stakeholders and perform a thorough assessment (Initial and subsequent) of emanating, existing and envisaged problematic situations and proffer solutions.• Support Business Advisors in delivering training workshops and advisory sessions.• Formulate recommendations and solutions for project activities• Ensure business project activities are implemented with sound managerial, technical, financial, and overall programmatic practices• Provide support in implementing Agtech Interface Network (AIN) activities including demo-days, hackathons, roundtable events etc.• Produce statistical and narrative reports for internal and external consumption, including success stories, challenges, case studies and impact results against selected indicators;• Strict adherence to the timeframe of assignments in project life-scope

Responsibilities attached to this role were to; assist the National Market Development Coordinator to facilitate market access for benefiting farmers and farmer organizations; directly handle aspects of market information system (MIS) and ensure private sector participation in driving the process; handle promotional activities aimed at increasing market access for rural farmers, including identification of off-takers, facilitating farmers’ linkages and engagement with the private sector, working with communication unit to produce knowledge products; Liaising with relevant States, private sector and persons to deepen on the Commodity Alliance Forum (CAF), facilitate replication of CAF in non-VCDP States through policy dialogue and partnership engagement; Ensure adoption of the use of standard weights and measures by producers; capacity building/training of farmers and processors on MIS, pricing, business management, quality development, packaging, branding; preparation of annual work plan and budget for the sub component and preparation of end of year report.Achievements includes; organised national CAF summit; developed market and enterprise development strategy, partnership strategy; facilitated formation and strengthening of marketing groups; developed CAF handbook, business management modules and manuals for rice and cassava farmers, processors and marketers; linked rice and cassava producers to off-takers; facilitated value chain finance for rice producers in some States; 12450 smallholder farmers hooked to AMIS platforms; trained 2267 farmers and processors on business management, entrepreneurship, marketing, leadership and team building; development of business models for rice parboilers, briquette production from rice husks and conversion of cassava peels to animal feed; and policy dialogue with Senior Government Officers of Ebonyi State to press for policy on standard weights and measures and rice paddy marketing in the State etc.
