We have entered a new era of technological awakening and access to information that was never before available. In most cases, the conditions that dictated how we have done things in the past no longer constrain how we can do things differently in the present and future. However, most still continue to do what they have always done the way they have always done it without question. The future is open to those who themselves awake to this realisation, challenge the status quo and capitalise on the new opportunities available to them. The words of the late Peter Drucker could not be more relevant today with his stark warning to innovate or die! I am an ardent believer in education and technology being catalysts for change in improving people’s quality of life by finding new and better ways of moving us forward. Education, including self-education, is arguably the most powerful tool available to unlock potential and break negative cycles. Technology has no prejudice. It can democratise access to expertise, quality information and advice, levelling the playing field and allowing people access to a more equal opportunity to grow in whichever particular area they want to. Bringing together education and technology to serve the common objective of empowering a person excites and motivates me and can lead to truly transformational results.
