I am an experienced innovator with a wide skill set across engineering, design, science and business. I focus on the early stages of tech creation, from the generation of new ideas to the delivery of working prototypes.Tech creation projects are usually characterised by limited time and resources, as well as a need for cross-domain expertise. I am a student of electrical and electronic engineering, computer science, design, business, economics, neuroscience and psychology. I exploit this wide range of expertise to ensure innovations are compelling to the user, technically feasible and economically viable. My projects have included experimental military aircraft, drive-by-wire vehicles, financial analysis apps, Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV), Artificial Intelligence (AI) reconfigurable firmware platforms, desktop/mobile/web/IoT apps and devices, social media analytics, biomedical devices and apps, predictive navigation and logistics planning systems, as well as 3D (serious) gaming / virtual reality environments. I previously held research fellowships at the Universities of Brighton and Sussex. I have enjoyed teaching roles as a university lecturer and as a mentor and supervisor for undergraduate, masters and doctoral students.I have twenty years of engineering R&D / innovation experience working with some of the best technology creators in the UK, from small start-ups within the Cambridge cluster, to the Ministry of Defence, Defence Science Technology Laboratory, DERA/QinetiQ, and the universities of Brighton, Sussex and Cambridge.
