Jacob is currently working as an Executive Director at Circle Health Group, following appointment as the first doctor on the Executive Director Training Programme in 2023. With a background as an NHS doctor, he has held various executive leadership roles within charity, local government, and the corporate sector.Jacob achieved his MBChB with honours from the University of Liverpool. During his university days, he established the first medical leadership and management society and held roles in organisations such as JASME and the FMLM. He also launched Just4Meds, and supported various academic societies as President. His work was recognised with various awards including the Jack M Leggate award for Leadership.In the clinical space, Jacob has navigated both primary & secondary care for the NHS across fields including medicine, surgery and emergency care, whilst assuming additional responsibilities such as rota coordination and leading the Feedback Orientated Observed Teaching program at a regional level. Within academia, he has previously held an honorary contract with the medical school at the University of Sheffield, where he taught in anatomical studies, clinical skills, high-fidelity simulation, and group teaching. Moreover, he served as an examiner for MBChB OSCEs and conducted interviews for prospective students. Recently, he secured a clear majority as a councillor for the Department of Medicine and successfully completed a PgCert in Medical Education.In 2020, he co-founded MindHealth, the pioneering mental health charity dedicated to medical students and has since guided its expansion program. Jacob also sits as a trustee on the executive committee and chairs the strategic advisory board, instrumental in shaping the charity's future direction and operational growth. His executive commitments extend to other charities such as the Be Free Campaign.Jacob's influence in healthcare leadership extends through his dedication to the Healthcare Leadership Academy. He has led cohorts in international locations across London, Amsterdam, and Edinburgh, with a current focus on enhancing scholar experience through curriculum design. He has recently taken the lead on the mentorship program and is overseeing its expansion and growth.In local government, Jacob has held positions such as Assistant Deputy Returning Officer, Presiding Officer, and Verification Officer. In these roles, he oversaw the democratic electoral process and managed large teams under high-pressure situations.Jacob is also a qualified RYT200 yoga instructor and interview coach.
