About Dr Jesse Mears

Jesse transforms organisations, teams and individuals to make a positive change, with a specialism in data strategy, research and evaluation. She helps teams articulate their aims, how an intervention will lead to change, and how best to monitor its progress. Her way of working combines design thinking with academic and coaching methodologies.As Head of Data Strategy at Parkinson's UK Jesse transformed the organisation's approach to data. From forming and leading an Analytics and Insights team, to developing and sharing monthly organisational insights, Jesse embedded a culture of curiosity at Parkinson's UK and brought data to life for colleagues working across the whole organisation. This culture change resulted in increased investment and understanding in data from the executive team, Board of Trustees, as well as colleagues from all levels. Since 2015 Jesse has worked with youth and health organisations to design and evaluate their data and services. Jesse was the Data Model Product Manager at Barnardo's as part of the Data Transformation Programme, responsible for designing and developing a new data model and setting standards for service design. Prior to this she was the Data and Evaluation Manager for digital projects and new services at Centrepoint, responsible for the Youth Homelessness Databank, The Centrepoint Helpline and a digital alumni network. Jesse has consulted for the World Health Organization supporting the implementation and use of a health data system for Tuberculosis surveillance across the world. Jesse has a PhD in Public Health from UCL and is an ILM-qualified workplace coach.
