About Dr. Leonard Momeny

A dedicated leader, educator, and scholar with 25 years of experience as an Army Warrant Officer and aviator in the Department of Defense. Very successful at leading diverse teams in a variety of organizations, including over 10 years of experience developing and delivering undergraduate and graduate-level instruction for institutions like the US Army Warrant Officer Career College (USAWOCC), US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Central Texas College, and Liberty University. Strong record of leadership, curriculum development, exceptional teaching, scholarship, research, and service. Recipient of the 2022 Warrant Officer Historical Foundation Non-Resident Fellowship. My experience as a leader has equipped me with excellent training, mentoring, and interpersonal skills. My direct leadership skillset was initially crafted in the 75th Ranger Regiment, the premier special operations infantry unit in the US Army. As a Warrant Officer, I led as both an aviator and officer, earning combat experience but also leading in areas such as safety programs, equal opportunity, and team member wellbeing. I have served on direct leadership teams (executive level), providing oversight, mentoring, and advisement to officers and leaders alike. Teaching and instruction are a passion. I have tremendous experience teaching in dynamic environments, specifically initial entry flight training in advanced aircraft. I have also demonstrated agility in teaching. Whether instructing college freshman in philosophy of religion, guiding graduate students through military history, or teaching aerodynamics to instructor pilot students from Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, there is no teaching challenge too big for me.Finally, as a competent technical advisor, I have influenced Army wide training, education, and innovation in areas such as aviation operations, the space operational environment, and officer development and education.I am both eager and excited to explore new opportunities beyond the Army and should be able to begin work in July 2024.
