Mathias Lidgren is a medical doctor and board-certified specialist in clinical genetics, currently working as Chief Medical Officer in Moroxite T, a startup developing innovative cancer treatments. Prio to joining Moroxite T, he worked for over a decade as a medical doctor in clinical genetics, oncology, and surgery at various university hospitals in the UK, Switzerland, and Sweden.In addition to his medical career, Mathias has been involved in successfully running multiple companies for the last 2 decades. He currently sits on the board of directors in 9 companies. These companies include Rex International Holding, a multinational oil exploration and production company listed on the mainboard of the Singapore stock exchange, with a 2023 revenue of 207 million USD and EBITDA of 93 million USD. It also includes Rotationsplast AB, a privatly held Swedish manufacturing company that over the last 10 years has achived an average 3 million USD in annual revenue with an average 11% net profit margin.Mathias studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and has subsequently practiced medicine in the UK, Switzerland, and Sweden. He also holds a Master of Arts in genetics from University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the International University of Monaco, and a PhD in health economics from Karoliniska Institutet. Mathias won numerous prizes during his academic years, including graduating valedictorian, “Summa Cum Laude”, and “Best in Finance” from the International University of Monaco as well as scoring in the top 1% of the Major Field Test. While at the University of Cambridge he graduated with honors and was awarded the St Edmund’s College Simon Boniface Prize for the highest mark in the Final MB examination. Mathias speaks fluent Swedish, English and French as well as being conversant in Italian.Outside of work Mathias is an avid sportsperson. He is currently training and competeing in Brazilian juijitsu, winning gold in the 2024 BJJ Nations #8, 2023 Malmö Open and 2023 Danish Open. He holds a black belt in Taekwondo since 1999, and won bronze in the 1999 Swedish Junior Taekwondo championships, won bronze at the British Student Taekwondo Federation National Championships in 2009, won gold at the 2008 Cambridge Open Taekwondo Championship as well as winning his black belt match against Oxford in the Cambridge-Oxford Taekwondo Varsity 2009. He has previously also trained and competed in MMA and Thaiboxing.
