I am currently working at Effat University as the Director of Sociocultural Research Center and Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies. I hold a BA in Arabic and Islamic Studies (Nadwat al-‘Ulama), a Masters in Shari'ah (Nadwat al-‘Ulama), a Masters in Islamic Studies (Portsmouth) and a PhD in Middle Eastern / Islamic Studies (Manchester).I have taught a variety of specialised and interdisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Manchester and Effat Universities over the past ten years. Apart from my current teaching assignments, I also serve as the coordinator of Islamic Studies programme and am involved in several academic and administrative processes at the university level.My research interest includes Modern Middle Eastern history, Islamic law and its interaction with modernity, Qur'anic exegesis and educational epistemology. I serve as a member and advisor on several research and consultancy committees both at the University and internationally.
