Graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2000, Extensive experience in general and geriatric medicine at university teaching hospitals. 3.5 years at registrar level in specialist palliative care medicine in the acute hospital, in-patient hospice and community home care settings. Higher specialist training in Rehabilitation Medicine at the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) & affiliated Dublin teaching hospitals, from 2011 - 2015. Awarded the Diploma in Cerebrovascular and Stroke Medicine (DCSM) from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2012.First appointed as consultant physician in 2016. Appointed as Medical Director of NRH Brain Injury Programme in 2022.Specialist clinical interests:Acquired brain injury rehabilitationSpasticity managementNeuropalliative careTransitional care for young adults with acquired brain injury. Passionate about undergraduate and postgraduate medical education; teacher of general medicine & rehabilitation to medical students and junior doctors, including those preparing for Royal College Membership examinations.Examiner for the MRCP (Ireland) Part 2 clinical examination.
