Associate Professor of Practice, the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, working with the leadership group of the Centre for Disability Research and Practice.

I lead the respect and inclusion team, analysing hearing and submission evidence, facilitating cooperation between internal and external stakeholders, drafting recommendations, and writing the final report. Lead drafter, “Our vision for an inclusive Australia", member of the DRC’s Findings and Recommendations Working Group, chair the DRC Disability Staff Network from 2020-2022.

I participated in the strategic development of the research agenda, managed several research projects with external and internal stakeholders, and led a team analysing and summarising research for hearings and policy. I wrote the research report, "Hierarchies of power: Disability theories and models and their implications for violence against, and abuse, neglect, and exploitation of, people with disability."

Deliver seminars, teach disability and ethics, supervise PhD students, and conduct research on spinal cord injury and wellbeing. Previously worked with The Centre for Research Excellence in Disability and Health in developing a monitoring framework for the social determinants of health (see selected publications). During this period, Alphacrucis dramatically expanded its faculty and student body and opened campuses throughout Australia and New Zealand. I project-managed teams to earn undergraduate and postgraduate degree accreditation. I taught ethics and theology to thousands of students over two decades. I managed teams that delivered high-quality and timely face-to-face and online degree programs. I contributed to the strategic vision and organisational plans that grounded the expansion and success of the college as it achieved University status.
