Work as part of a production team. Operate and maintain the Copper and Pyrite floatation circuits and the regrind Isa Mill section. Use the Yokogawa operating system to make process changes to ensure that the target Concentrate and tails grades are achieved as per the Metallurgists set point sheet. Ensure that target density set points are achieved. Ensure the Isa Mill KW are on set point and the grind size is within range. Ensure that reagent usage is minimised as much as possible to mitigate costs while still achieving the set target grades. Record all relevant information into the shift log. Participate in daily safety meetings. Safety representative for my crew. Opinion leader for the “NewSafe” safety system used at Telfer. Report and fix hazards in the workplace. Initiate change of management forms, Initiate work orders for maintenance tasks. Conduct Level 1 and Level 2 isolations. Operate machinery I.E. Gantry Crane, Forklift, Bobcat, Loader, Flat bed truck and EWP. Participate in preparing and conducting reagent mixes. Team member of the Emergency Response team.

Ensure target densities and recovery is achieved. Generate work request forms on pronto system. Liaise with other work groups i.e. power station, Maintance, refinery, electricians and contractors. Monitor all areas of the beneficiation plant i.e. crushing, ball mill, thickener, magnetic separators, cyclones, belt filter, conveyors and screens. Patch/repair pipes and equipment that are holed and causing spillage. Monitor, operate and maintain bore fields, reverse osmosis plant (RO plant) and tails dam. Participate in commissioning of new equipment to the plant. Operate and maintain hired mobile equipment such as diesel pumps, compressors, lighting towers and generators. Perform group isolations and organise permit to work, hot work, working at heights and confined space permits. Participated in the commissioning and start-up operation of the first rare earth concentrator plant in Australia at Mt Weld Rare Earths Concentrator. Monitor various sections within the plant such as Grinding, Floatation, Thickening, Filtration, Bagging and De-Watering. Operate the 6 MW Water tube boiler. Observe and record all relevant data on shift log sheets and pass on any required information to oncoming crew. Ensure a safe work environment by reporting hazards and implementing controls to eliminate or control the hazard, maintain a high standard of housekeeping. More duties include using various Citect DCS computer operating systems to monitor/ control the plant, collecting samples, performing minor Maintance on process pumps etc. Safely control and use all related chemicals within the plant. Zinc Lead Concentrator Process technician in the areas of, Grinding (Rod, SAG, Isa mills, tower mills and ball Mills), Thickeners, Zinc Floatation, Lead Floatation and Concentrator Control Room (Yokogawa operating system).Duties and Responsibilities: Work as part of a production crew. Know very well the entire circuitry for the concentrator. Train new operators on the crew in their new area and safety. Check and maintain all pumps, Motors, Pump boxes, Tons throughput while maintaining target grades and recovery within strict guidelines. Maintain Spillage throughout the entire concentrator. Report any/all issues and general information to Supervisors, Superintendents and Managers. Patch leaking pipe work and equipment. Ensure all mills are running at the desired KW set points to maintain optimum grind size. Work in with other departments and services including Heavy Medium Plant, Lead Smelter, Zinc filter plant, Wet fill, Maintance, Electricians and Day services. Maintain and Operate machinery safely. Supervise production crew when required.
