I worked at Pershore Medical Practice since 2002; initially as a locum until I became a practice partner in July 2003. I brought enthusiasm, energy and leadership to a multidisciplinary clinical team consisting of nine doctors, two advanced nurse practitioners, three clinical pharmacists, five nurses and three health care assistants. With just over 10,500 patients, Pershore Medical Practice served a thriving market town that included both rural and urban multicultural populations. My clinical roles included on-call duties, acute clinics, routine appointments, home visits and management of chronic illnesses. This generated and necessitated the review of blood and other investigations, and clinical letters from secondary and tertiary care consultants. I also undertook minor surgery including cryotherapy and perform a range of joint injections. I actively took part in practice meetings, significant event analysis and palliative care meetings. I was also practice lead for child safeguarding. My non-clinical roles included being chair partner, an executive position working alongside the practice manager to lead and coordinate decision-making in the practice. I was also the finance lead for the practice; the information governance lead and lead clinician for care quality commission. In addition to these roles, I was the educational and clinical supervisor for trainee doctors in family medicine since 2005.During this time, I had the pleasure of working with and guiding many doctors from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
