I am a senior scientist with more than 25 years of professional experience in Germany, Spain, and France. Currently I am a research director at CNRS and a faculty member (Privatdozent) at Saarland University. I worked as a visiting researcher at various instiutes including SRI International in Menlo Park, Zuse Institute Berlin, Fujitsu Laboratories Japan, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Forschungszentrum Jülich.I am the editor-in-chief of Mathematics in Computer Science and an associate editor at the Journal of Symbolic Computation. I regularly serve on committees of leading international conferences in computer science and mathematics.My research spans the domains of exact and efficient computation, computer algebra, logic, and formal reasoning. Further interests include interdisciplinary research on the qualitative analysis of dynamic properties of reaction systems in chemistry and systems biology. I am a principal developer of the open-source computer algebra system Reduce including my computer logic system Redlog, which has received more than 500 citations for applications to scientific problems.
