About Ben Goldman
I am a person-centered, narrative-focused therapist. Although my degree is in drama therapy, I am also trained in traditional counseling methods. I never assume my clients are going to feel comfortable doing expressive therapy. I approach each client within the context of their present needs. I am adept at integrating creative work when and if the client needs it. I chose to study drama therapy because of the power of embodied enactment to prompt insight and help people move out of their "stuck" places. Simple exercises such as role-playing out a scenario that is causing a client distress, or using co-regulation techniques such as mirroring, move therapy beyond talking and into action. Clients leave sessions feeling relieved, renewed, and excited. To me, that is a miracle.I am a proud member of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA), the International Expressive Arts TherapyAssociation (IEATA), and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
