Building a global eye health funder. We currently have a team of 5 and programmes in 13 countries, with more in the pipeline and a portfolio of Eye Health Accelerator Grants.

• Designing and setting up programmes for this new global fund.• The aspiration is a billion dollar fund that will strengthen health systems to address eye diseases and build markets for glasses across the globe. • Currently working with founding partners, including banks and philanthropists, eye health experts and NGOs to design the pilots for the Fund.

I am a Trustee of this charity which has the mission of enabling LGBTQ+ people with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives, through inclusive action and programmes.

Freelance consultancy services offered include funding and social change, grant-making, evaluation and learning, diversity and inclusion, strategy, programme design, managing change and devising strategies.

* Responsible for devising and managing a £100m pan-Commonwealth Programme over a five year period, consisting of two themes: 1) Avoidable Blindness, 2) Youth Leadership (The Queen’s Young Leaders).* Avoidable Blindness Programme: I developed strategic partnerships with organisations in the UK, Australia, Asia, the Pacific and Caribbean. Millions of people across the Commonwealth will not go blind as a result of this work.* Designed and managed the monitoring and evaluation strategy for the programmes, to provide reporting to a wide range of stakeholders. * Queen’s Young Leaders Programme: Designed and delivered awards and grants focusing on youth unemployment and advocacy.* Accountable to a senior Board of Trustees, chaired by Sir John Major and including The Queen’s Private Secretary and the Bishop of London. * Representing the Trust in global meetings (e.g. in partnership with the WHO) and undertaking overseas missions to Africa, Asia, the Pacific and the Caribbean.* Successfully achieved the desired results and closed this time-limited Trust as planned.

• Managed a £5m programme of social change, focusing the following two themes.• Reducing the number of young people in prison in the UK. This was a strategic partnership with the Prison Reform Trust, involving research, influencing, coalition building and close relationships with government.• Obtaining a global ban on cluster bombs. Following on from work undertaken by the Princess on landmines, this involved global coalition working and influencing.• The ban was achieved and the number of young people in prison in the UK was reduced by 50% through this five year strategy.• Designed grant-making processes and managed a diverse team. • Created a partnership with Coutts private bank to share philanthropic learning. • Achieved the desired results and successfully closed the Fund as planned.

I founded this social change and philanthropic advice consultancy with two partners. We carried out strategic reviews, chaired learning meetings and wrote reports for clients including DFID. Learnt valuable skills about setting up and managing my own business as well as on monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL).

This was a short term assignment where I worked in the policy department, supporting research on a range of issues and learning about advocacy.
