While working on my doctoral research projects, I have worked in multiple areas pertaining to nanomaterial synthesis, surface property analysis, electrochemical properties of coatings, etc. I have done research on a project related to the enhancement of corrosion protection behavior by incorporation of carbonaceous additives such as carbon nanotubes and graphene nanosheets for binary alloy electrodeposited coatings of nickel-phosphorus. The additives were synthesized in the lab as part of the project. I have worked extensively on the microstructure-corrosion properties for binary nickel-phosphorus alloy coatings.In addition to this published work. I have learned the synthesis of nanoparticles for high entropy alloys by wet chemical synthesis and further drop-casting over mild steel substrate for corrosion behavior analysis. They have been recrystallized at high temperatures of 700-900˚C for segregation of phases for components of HEAs and further tested for improvement in corrosion resistance. I have synthesized cobalt ferrite nanoparticles by wet chemical synthesis, which in dried powdered form were tested for CO oxidation reaction in a fixed bed reactor setup.In my master's in chemical engineering, I have worked in the area of heterogeneous catalysis with a focus on catalyst deactivation due to poisoning gaseous constituents, in model biogas and it's an investigation at different temperatures of the fixed bed reactor in a continuous operation equipped with SCADA System for recovery calculations.My work experience can be summarised as:Internship/Application engineer (onsite) – Honeywell Automation India Ltd. (Process solutions) (October 2010-April 2011)Department: Business FlexOnsite team member (Manufacturing and Engineering Services (MES) project): Project commissioning and implementation of licensed optimization packages at MRPL (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd.) at Mangalore, Karnataka.Responsibilities:In charge of the development of monthly and daily reports for unit operations in the refinery.Arrangement of Tags in excel and generation of crystal reports.Installation and connectivity of real-time database (RTDB) at MRPL, Mangalore.Installation of Honeywell Uniformance Packages (HUP) for data collection and processing from RTDB.I am interested in working in research areas involving batteries, metal matrix composites, advanced engineering materials, high entropy alloys, bulk metallic glasses, amorphous coatings, surface coatings, etc.
