Dr. Barbara J. Brown, a Licensed Clinical/Community Psychologist, Speaker, Author, and Advocate for Mental Health with over three decades of experience, serves as the Founder and CEO of CapitolHill Consortium for Counseling & Consultation, LLC (CCCC) and Unicorn Health Care, LLC. CCCC has grown to be one of the largest and diverse private mental health group practices in the Washington DC region, earning local and national recognition for business growth and social impact. Established in 2009, CCCC provides equitable access to mental health care (www.ccccmentalhealth.com) while delivering state of the art and culturally responsive psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and testing for children, adolescents, and adults. CCCC is devoted to training the next generation of therapists. The psychology training program (PTP) for pre- doctoral and postdoctoral psychology graduate students is well established and hosts an internship program accredited by the American Psychological Association. In 2023, CCCC launched the innovative Clinical Community Professional Development Program (CCPDP)for early career social work and counseling professionals.CCCC is certified with WBENC and WOSB and 100% Black woman owned business.Unicorn Health Care, LLC (www.unicornhealthcare.com) was created in 2022 as the sister organization of CCCC to focus on the application of psychology in corporate, community, and government entities through public speaking, consultation, training, and holistic wellness retreats.Dr. Brown also dedicates time to other organizations of purpose. She serves as the Board Chair for the Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI), a national nonprofit devoted to health equity and the most pressing health concerns of Black women. She is Co-chair of the Health and Human Services Facet of the Washington (DC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, Co-Chair of the Washington DC Young Enterprising Women’s STEAM Scholarship Program sponsored by the Enterprising Women Foundation (EWF), and Member of the Advisory Council for the Boris L. Henson Foundation (BLHF). She belongs to several national business organizations including the Women Presidents Organization (WPO), the Women’s Business Collaborative (WBC), the Enterprising Women Foundation (EWF), Women Elevating Women (W.E.W.), is a Founding Member of the Black Owners and Women’s Collective (The BOW Collective), and an active alumni of the EY Entrepreneurial Access Network (EAN).
