In 2014 I was elected by the New York Annual Conference to serve as a delegate to the international General Conference of the United Methodist Church, the UMC’s only rule-making governing body. I stepped down as the chair of MIND to focus on nationalizing MIND’s strategies ahead of the 2016 meeting, and continued nationally-focused work after General Conference. • Wrote, spoke, and preached about the necessity of strategies of non-violent resistance to the UMC’s discriminatory rules • Organized and facilitated workshops and retreats• Coordinated with other national movement leaders• Helped mobilize hundreds of activists to protest at the 2016 General Conference• Planned direct action protests during the General Conference

• Helped start and served as first chair of regional grassroots organization of United Methodists working to end the UMC’s institutional discrimination against LGBTQI people• Led steering committee and process of developing goals, strategy, and programming• Served as lead organizer for many of MIND’s campaigns and events, such as the We do!
