About Danielle Pearson

As an Associate Professor in Psychology at San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) with over ten years of experience in teaching and research, I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of psychology in higher education. I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology from The University of Stirling and a Master of Science in Psychological Research Methods from the same institution. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside and am currently pursuing a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instructional Design and a Graduate Certificate in Racial Equity and Educational Justice from St. Michael's College. In my current role, I serve as the Psychology Department Chair, the Program Review Committee Faculty Chair, the Program Review Representative to College Council, an Academic Senate Division Senator and Executive Board Member, and the Mind & Matter Psychology Club Faculty Co-Advisor. I teach courses in general psychology, statistics, and research methods, and I mentor students in conducting and presenting psychological research. My research interests include decolonizing educational spaces, improving teaching and learning, effects of social and language background on perspective-taking, and the development of early socio-cognitive skills. I have presented at regional, national, and international conferences on these topics. I am committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for my students and colleagues.
