Our current main project is the development of a software test for predicting which patients will exhibit a placebo response in clinical drug trials. Trial failures due to high placebo responses cost the pharmaceutical industry hundreds of millions of dollars per year so there is strong interest in novel approaches to mitigating the impact of the placebo response. The Placebo Responsive Predictor project is a collaboration led by Neurosynergy Games and includes Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, and the National Digital Research Centre. More recently, Oxford University Innovation has taken on the PRP project and is currently looking for co-development commercialisation partners.
