Dr David Gunn is an Australian ophthalmologist specialising in medical and surgical diseases of the cornea, complex cataract surgery and laser and refractive eye surgery.Dr Gunn was trained in Queensland and graduated from the University of Queensland Science and Medicine programs awarded with First Class Honours. He completed medical residency and ophthalmology training in Queensland and was awarded the prestigious K. G. Howsam gold medal for obtaining the highest results in the Australian and New Zealand final ophthalmology examinations. Dr Gunn was fellowship trained at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with further subspecialty training in corneal and refractive surgery at the Bristol Eye Hospital, UK.Dr Gunn practices at the Queensland Eye Institute and holds a public appointment at the Queensland Children's Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane.Dr Gunn is active in eye disease research and publishes in local and international medical journals. He is involved in the training of surgical registrars and is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland.
