About David Jesson

A materials scientist interested in multi-disciplinary research, particularly when mechanical testing and surface analysis are involved. A particular area of focus is composite materials and within this I'm interested in nanomaterials and sustainability.For my PhD I studied nano-composites, adopting a complementary approach of surface analysis and mechanical testing. I'm looking into funding opportunities to develop aspects of this work. In the meantime I've worked as a Post-Doc Research Fellow, on an industrially funded contract, which allowed me to build on the mechanical testing side of things as well as taking the opportunity to analyse the data produced in some novel ways to extract as much information as possible from the basic tests.
