As a 2016 Arts Connect International Arttist in Residence, I am working with migrants in Hermanos en el Camino, a shelter in Oaxaca, México on creating an archive, digital and physical, of performances, photographs, videos, and songs to tell stories of the lived experiences of migrants to challenge structures of power. Arts Connect International cultivates and connects leaders in the arts field committed to cultural inclusion and social equity on a global scale.

I work with Mobility | Mobilidad on several projects, including: 1) Students for Rhetorical Mobility, where I assist with our weekly English class comprised of Emerson students, staff, faculty, and maintenance workers, 2) Proyecto Carrito, where immigrants wrote our narratives and literally drive them (they are pasted onto a van) around the US to advocate for more inclusive immigration and education policies, and 3) Proyecto Boston-Medellin, in which a group of Colombian artists tour the US with their art to break down rhetorical borders that keep them from advocating for themselves.

Oaxaca De Juárez Area, Mexico

Historias Desde el Albergue is a multimedia digital archive of stories of Central American migrants. These stories can be accessed by them, their families, and anyone all over the world to create bridges by the often-invisible migrants and the rest of the world.

I work on project at the intersection of the arts and education. My tasks range from content management on our website to curriculum development for a student leader course.

El Paso, Texas Area

I worked as a VAWA Legal Assistant to provide immigration assistant to survivors of domestic violence, and as Safe Schools Coordinator to organize educational presentations for middle and high school classrooms in El Paso to prevent harassment and discrimination, particularly among the LGBTQ community.

I provided office support for the Division of Diversity & Inclusion. Among administrative responsibilities, I was tasked with leading student organizational efforts on a campaign to make the school more inclusive to students who are undocumented and with organizing a Women's Leadership Summit.

I provided administrative and creative support to the Dramaturgy and Outreach Fellow at ArtsEmerson on dramaturgy research and educational/community programming around ArtsEmerson's season.

Emerson College

I helped canvas on campus at Emerson and organized actions for Elizabeth Warren's campaign. I rallied students to vote on November 4th, and collaborated with other college students to strategize to bring the college vote to Elizabeth's campaign.

I worked on dramaturgy research for an upcoming revival production of "the Exonerated," which included researching and reaching out to death penalty experts, death penalty practices in the U.S., and how the arts can be used for advocacy. I also assisted in the production of our summer new works festival, during which we produced over 100 short, multi-modal pieces of visual and performing arts in the course of two months.

I worked primarily on copy editing material for our show programs and outreach to the community on our season and programming. I also occasionally provided support in reviewing play submissions and writing reviews/recommendations for plays to add to our future seasons.
