I am an applied microeconomist with a Ph.D. from the Haas School at U.C. Berkeley, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I) economics. I primarily develop machine learning (ML) and big data methods to build novel computational economic models. I am currently exploring potential application areas for cutting-edge, ML-based economic models. I am looking for opportunities where providing scalable, reusable economic models as a service can drive efficiency and growth, including through litigation support and regulatory compliance. I welcome connections from researchers and practitioners alike.For the last four years, I have worked on the R&D and commercialization of supply chain innovations that can handle contemporary supply and demand shocks, first for Amazon's Core AI group and then as a founder of Petabyte Economics (www.petabyteeconomics.com). Petabyte has developed two innovations for large retailers with many geographically dispersed fulfillment centers:* A consistently (dis-)aggregatable, multi-dimensional, location-specific, cloud-scalable, Bayesian demand forecasting system.* An ML-based, big data, non-parametric risk function minimization method for computing the optimal placement of goods.My academic and pro-bono work — featured on www.edegan.com — mainly concerns the economic analysis of venture capital and intellectual property. It leverages ML in its measures and big data analytics and high-performance computing in its methods.
