Words are powerful tools we can use to grow people, organizations, and strategic vision. I love to use my words to bring people in, make them feel a part of something bigger than themselves, and motivate them. With my doctorate in communication, I know how to sort through the complex and make it simple. I like to consider scenarios and mindfully prepare for potential obstacles, resistance, and confusion. I am proactive, as opposed to reactive. I take action and learn from it, continuously honing the fine art of communication. My commitment to continuous learning and growth in the field of communication is unwavering. My critical thinking skills enable me to consider options from several viewpoints and choose the one that makes the most sense for a particular task. I am always eager to develop and contribute in the area of communication.At this point in my career, I enjoy pouring into others and helping them to use communication more effectively. Currently, I work as a consultant, engaging leaders with creative ways to develop their teams. As a career coach, I help clients move into the next chapter of their lives. As a professor, I love to teach about communication and help students overcome their fear of speaking, think creatively about the messages they want to convey, and harness the power of communication at all levels.On the Strengthfinders Survey, my top five themes are Strategic, Communication, Activator, Ideation, and Intellection. These words describe my interests well. People I work with report that I am fun-loving, a great team player, someone they can count on, creative, and a strong communicator. On the Enneagram, I am a number three -- achiever. I love to prove I can rise to and surpass any expectations people have for me. On the Myers-Briggs, I am an ENFJ, an extrovert who loves to think about ideas and possibilities. I like to be relational and organized. I am sensitive to how others may be feeling and seek to adjust my communication accordingly. I am comfortable working with all levels within an organization. At Accenture, I worked with top-level executives, helping to facilitate strong teams. At Denver Water, I worked with cross-functional/cross-level teams and enabled them to communicate better with each other. At Hackley Hospital, I was the face that welcomed employees to their positions and helped them feel excited to be part of a new team.
