I was an associate editor with XBIZ, the largest adult industry trade publication in the United States. I was responsible for original reporting on various aspects of the adult industry, including business news, legal matters/legislation, product reviews, and industry profiles for online and print publications. I also cultivated relationships with major players across the industry, including producers, managers, agents, performers, PR reps, and corporate communications officers.I served as the Director of Customer Service for Ontario Home Comfort, which specializes in sales and service of HVAC equipment across the province. When I started with the company, I was the manager of customer retention at a time when we were only doing 15-20 installs per week. Over my first six months we tripled our business, and I grew the retention department from a one-man operation to a team of six. I was responsible for hiring, training, the development of training manuals, and the day-to-day management of retention operations. Following that, I was assigned to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, to oversee the establishment of a call centre for the purpose of booking appointments for our sales agents in Ontario. I built the call centre from scratch - navigated the various Mexican federal, state and municipal government bureaucracies, the finding, stocking and staffing of the call centre, the development of scripts and rebuttals, and the successful integration of Ontario Home Comfort policies in a foreign country. I managed a staff of 30, spread over two shifts.Prior to Ontario Home Comfort, I spent many years in various sales, customer service, and editorial positions, as my resume demonstrates. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and also attended Humber College's Radio Broadcasting Program, as well as the Journalism program at Centennial College.
