About Drew Penner

I'm a journalist with two decades of experience working with newspapers, magazines, podcasts and radio stations. My current home is with a family of papers in the Santa Cruz and Silicon Valley areas, where I edit a community title called the Los Gatan and report for the Scotts Valley Press Banner.At the Press Banner, I cover City Council, water quality, local events, the economy and more. At the Los Gatan, I report on housing development, the vibrant business scene and court cases that have drawn regional and national attention. I set the news agenda, work with a stable of writers to provide insightful coverage of crime, society, politics and the arts, and collaborate with our design team to present the content in a striking manner that leaves an impression on readers.I manage the surfing and West Coast lifestyle brand I founded called Frequency Horizon, which has racked up 600,000 views on YouTube.
