Drew Stevens has over two decades of experience in software technology design, project management, marketing, user experience, and entrepreneurial pursuits, both in and out of the enterprise. His industry experience ranges from consumer products to government legal transparency, to distributed knowledge management applications, as well as a deep spike in energy. After working with a series of startups, Drew is happy to be working with the customers of Google Cloud Platform to make cloud easier.Drew received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with an undeclared minor in Computer Science from Columbia University School of Engineering in 1993. The foundation for his career was built at Accenture (then Andersen Consulting) where Drew garnered expertise in software development, database design, and technical architecture in functional topic area as diverse as investment banking, sales force automation, and commercial energy trading. Following his time at the large scale consulting firm, he joined McKinsey and Company to work on corporate knowledge management strategy for the Firm. In his four years in the New York office, Drew rose in the internal ranks to be involved in numerous high profile projects, and was well regarded as an expert in technical and application architecture.Mr. Stevens left McKinsey to join a startup as the Director of Technology for an internet-technology driven retail eyewear company. There, he led a development and operational team to build an operational custom order, fulfillment, and support system from the ground up.Drew, then spent five years living in Hanoi Vietnam, where he served as an independent technology consulting for the Danish, and American governments. He authored the strategy and program managed the implementation for a series of legal transparency-related projects. In parallel, he also served as a strategy consultant for a Vietnamese software company, founded a successful local restaurant, and started a successful garment micro-label which operates to this day.Following his time in Asia, Drew joined a this third early stage technology driven startup: an energy optimization company which was later named Stem. While there he provided architectural guidance, operational experience, and development team management as the company grew from five people in a single office to almost two hundred people with a global footprint.
