As a lead Structural Engineer, I was the engineer of responsible charge for nearly all projects with which I was involved. I performed the structural design on diversified projects ranging from high-dollar custom homes to complex commercial office buildings. I was regularly tasked with conducting meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to discuss problems, solutions, and project status. I worked collectively with drafters and team members to provide full-scale, sealed drawings and calculations. I conducted site visits to identify seismic, corrosion, or other structural failures and provided solutions to these problems.

While at Nucor, I designed custom steel buildings. I was the primary design engineer in over 150 pre-engineered steel buildings throughout the Western United States and Canada. Projects ranged from simple agricultural structures to high seismic & essential facilities with multi-million dollar expenditures. While working for York I performed structural design for modern and upscale residential homes. I engineered all lateral and gravity resisting systems. I utilized programs such as AutoCad, Microsoft Office, StruCalc, and Forte. Some of our frequent clients were Ivory Homes, Nilson Homes and Landform Designs. The homes we designed varied from production to highly custom.

Logan Ut

Worked as one of two carpenters building a custom upscale home on the East bench of Logan City, UT. Most of the work performed was framing; built structural and interior walls, set floor trusses, installed structural paneling, and built aesthetic roofing.Performed design layouts with respect to plan specifications.I was also involved in ensuring structural compliance with requirements set by engineer. I assisted in design review and revision, mostly consisting of a large interior wooden cantilever.

Over the summer of 2013 I assisted in the designing of various projects in North Dakota and Utah. I worked largely on the reconstruction of 11th Street in Williston, ND, 600 North Street in Hurricane, UT, and Adams Avenue Pkwy in Washington Terrace, UT.I contributed in the design, layout, and phasing of the Construction Traffic Control plans. I headed the property acquisition for various projects by performing all of the residential and commercial property research throughout the project limits, creating ownership records for each property. I compiled engineer's pay estimates. I conducted a traffic studies to determine average daily traffic flow. I corrected and updated outdated maps of the storm drain system.

During the spring semester of 2013 I worked as a Classroom Support IT Tech. I monitored and maintained the classroom computer systems and networks of Utah State University. I Installed and configured computer systems, diagnosed hardware/software faults, and solved technical application problems.

At Campus Book Rentals I managed the Kiosk Build Team. The computerized kiosks that we built were designed for an in-store college campus rental program. Each kiosk was unique to the university it was assigned. These kiosks were sent to college bookstores throughout the US and Canada. As the Head of the Kiosk Build Team I was responsible for delivering quality products that were designed, built, and delivered on-time. I regularly met with manufacturers to discuss orders, design changes, and to discuss scheduling demand. I personally oversaw the assembly, programming, testing, and shipping of every kiosk. Often I was asked to trouble shoot kiosk problem or issues over the phone with customers all across the country.We delivered high quality products on a short time scale, making sure that the customer received the product promised on time and working correctly.

As the Maintenance Manager / Handyman for Gibson Property Management I was responsible for all upkeep and renovation of 10 rental homes in the Roy/Sunset area. This included all painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general care of the homes.

Hill Air Force Base, Ut

During this internship, I worked all aspects of the construction process on a government facility. This included design review, preconstruction meetings, review of submittals, oversight of work being performed, and quality control. ►During design reviews I compared the contractors designs with the customers Request for Proposal (RFP). ►I took an active part in the preconstruction meetings, helping to get project timeline and schedule nailed down. ►I performed many submittal reviews to ensure that the products that the contractor proposed to use met the RFP requirements. ►Part of the construction oversight I was assigned to was on the F-22 Fuel Composite Overhaul Test Facility. I oversaw over $5 million worth of concrete placed. This concrete was later recognized by The Utah Chapter of the American Pavement Association as the best Portland Cement Concrete Pavement Military Airport Project for 2010.►I performed many on site quality control tests to ensure products like concrete and rebar were within specification.
