Lead the Donor and Community Research (DCR) Program within the R&D DivisionPromoted to the Division Senior Management Leadership team.Increased the staff numbers for DCR from 2 to 12, to reflect the increase in numbers and scale of the research projects delivered.Achievements:- Extended the collaborative partnerships to include disciplines such as psychology, marketing, economics, public health and medicine.- Developed a Donors-Recruit-Donors program - over 35% of the sample recruited a donor who made at least one new donation. Reducing cost of acquiring these new donors by 94%.- Engaged with Economics researchers to develop a registry of lapsed donors - 12% of the 6000 contacted spontaneously returned, and 63% made donations when contacted. This represents an 80% cost saving on per donation cost.

Responsible for leading the running of the Project - "Prospective Memory in Healthy Ageing and Alzheimer's Disease." Ensured best practice research provide robust evidence to contribute to interventions designed to enhance positive ageing and making a positive difference to the quality of life of older people. The project also involved liaising with and supporting the mission of Alzheimer's Scotland - the peak body for patient support and advocacy through information exchange and workforce participation.Generated new knowledge in the field of prospective memory, with the practical application of understanding problems encountered in remembering to carry out appropriate actions at the right time, or in response to another cue.The implications for areas such as keeping medical appointments, adhering to drug taking schedules as well as every day tasks are broad.The other outcome was interventions to support the carers of Alzheimer's disease patients to reduce their own stress and consequently improve the lives of patients through better care.Outcomes from the project improved lives of healthy elderly people,supported patients and carers, as well as workers in the sector and contributing to the academic agenda.
