Create and respond to business opportunities in the field of site assessment and remediation that includes the identification of key clients and building and maintain relationships with these clients. Generate revenue and deliver effectively. Stay abreast of relevant/guiding legislation as well as how these are interpreted by government agencies. Identify market needs and develop service offerings in collaboration with the relevant business units, capitalising on the scientific and engineering resources in the company and/or their respective operational networks. Develop/advance new and novel multi-disciplinary products in the field of site assessment and remediation, starting from the present contaminated land solutions, site and groundwater clean-up, remediation as well as source-pathway-receptor assessment. Entrench new products as these are developed and become ready for implementation locally.Build and maintain an appropriate network with industry, academia, government and service providers in the field of site rehabilitation sciences. Increase visibility and profile in local technical, governmental and institutional bodies. Promote and ensure technical integration between business units to effectively deliver on projects by primarily providing the tie-over between the disciplines and/or business units in terms of the service offerings.

Consulting on Waste characterisation (organic), Source term characterisation, Waste management policy development, Waste management plans, Wastewater and sludge disposal, Waste management and remediation. Responsible for the management and execution of projects both locally and internationally.

Lead and support the core process of funding (the creation of new knowledge) by improving the use of support systems and evaluation tools, building research information databases and networks, and providing supporting information based on research about research. Develop knowledge linkages and thereby ensure the development of a leadership role at a national and global level. Increase public understanding of water-related issues. Responsible for developing and maintaining a core research and development department within the corporate structure of the East Rand Water Care Company (ERWAT). During my employment at ERWAT, I was seconded (3 days/week) to the University of Pretoria, Department of Chemical Engineering, Water Utilisation Division on a part time basis to implement the Chair in Wastewater Management. Responsible for developing the ERWAT Chair in Wastewater Management (five-year contract)
