I'm Dr. Jamila Perritt, MD, MPH, FACOG, a fellowship-trained, board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Currently, I proudly serve as the President and CEO of Physicians for Reproductive Health (PRH), a physician-led nonprofit committed to advancing access to reproductive health care for all individuals.With over 20 years of experience in reproductive health, rights, and justice, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my work. My background includes comprehensive training in family planning and a focus on community-based care at the intersection of sexual health, reproductive rights, and social justice.I earned my medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed my residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Furthering my education, I pursued a fellowship in Complex Family Planning at The Johns Hopkins University, where I also obtained a master's degree in public health from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.Passionate about advocacy, I collaborate closely with organizations such as Advocates for Youth, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America to champion comprehensive reproductive health care. Additionally, I serve as co-chair of Washington DC's Maternal Mortality Review Committee and am actively involved in initiatives like Echoing Ida, a member of the Black Maternal Health Federal Policy Collective, and a co-convener of the Federal Repro Strategies Coalition.My commitment to advancing reproductive health, rights and justice has led to features in prominent media outlets such as C-SPAN, CNN, MSNBC, PBS NewsHour, NPR, Glamor Magazine, MedPage Today, RewireNews, and The New York Times.I'm dedicated to leveraging medicine and science to drive positive change and am always eager to connect with like-minded professionals.
