Raising Equity explores racism, sexism, and other social issues through stories that highlight what we need to know and do as adults in the lives of children to create a more equitable world.

The Mouse and the Elephant was founded to make every workplace an inclusive workplace. We believe inclusive workplaces make for engaged, productive, innovative, and happy employees—and more successful organizations. The data backs up this belief.To help organizations develop inclusive workplaces, we deliver a different kind of diversity and inclusion initiative. We focus not on teaching today’s “best practices,” or presenting a one-off, check-the-compliance-box workshop, but on training leaders to understand what an inclusive culture looks and feels like, why it matters, and how to design one, whether they are the CEO or manage a team of two. We teach leaders how inclusion impacts everything from recruitment, hiring, promotion, and retention to customer service, creativity, and effective meetings. And we help leaders develop a diversity and inclusion skill-set that can serve them, their teams, and their organizations throughout their careers.

I teach courses in psychology at the 100, 200 and 300 levels (e.g. Psychology of Racism, Understanding Race, Insanity and Humanity: Portrayals of Mental Illness in Films and Narratives, Abnormal Psychology). I also coordinate a research lab and supervise honors theses.
