I’m driven to help people optimize talent and flourish.My life's work has taken me from the classroom, to the boardroom, to the stage. I help organizations and leaders around the world to use the science of behavioral change to contribute positively and achieve more fulfilling lives. I love teaching how to use the science of human resilience to cope with change and make positive behavioral changes. I humanize modern day discoveries on mental health through humor and stories from my own personal and professional experiences. Harnessing your emotions and fostering human potential is crucial to fight burnout and build a psychologically optimal environments that inspire collective efficacy.As a behavioral science professor, my students inspire me. They come from around the globe, eager to contribute their talent to make the world better. My research and teaching interests include individual and organizational well-being and resilience, particularly for marginalized and underserved populations. I’ve been recognized for my work from a number of organizations including as recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award from Northeastern University for “depth of knowledge” and “engaging teaching style,” an honorary doctorate in humane letters, an EdTech First Place MVP award for my work on addressing mental health challenges in higher education, and a Distinguished Professional Achievement Award from Worcester State University as “a leader who lives by the highest intellectual and ethical standards”.My books include, “RESET: Make the Most of Your Stress,” (Winner: Next Generation Indie Book Awards 2015 Motivational Book) best-selling “Mentalligence: A New Psychology of Thinking-Learn What it Takes to be More Agile, Mindful and Connected in Today’s World”, and “Worth the Risk: How to Microdose Bravery to Grow Resilience, Connect More, and Offer Yourself to the World,” (a 2022 Next Big Idea Book Club nominee and Nautilus Book Award Silver Medal Winner). My TedX talk, “The Risk You Must Take,” has over 427K views.
