About Dr Lauren Smith

I run Saltwater Life which is a marine research & conservation organisation with a focus on sharks, based in the UK.I am also a freelance writer and photojournalist and have written articles for The Guardian, BiOME Ecology, Diver Magazine and The Surfers Path.Concurrently I am also a Project Manager employed by the East Grampian Coastal Partnership to run a regional environmental initiative called Turning the Plastic Tide. The aim is to raise awareness of marine plastic pollution and encourage greater participation in beach cleaning in the North East of Scotland.
