The main focus was to develop new and more robust immune-oncology biomarkers for research and clinical practice.

At Leeds I investigated the genetic differences between male and female breast cancer using genome-wide gene expression data on one of the largest cohorts of male breast cancer samples in the world. I explored the expression of differentially expressed proteins for potential biomarker analysis using digital pathology. This work illuminated candidate targets for novel therapeutic intervention in male breast cancer.

My PhD project specifically focused on the pre-clinical conception and assessment of enzyme inhibitors. Further on from this was the investigation into the combinatorial effects of these agents with established therapeutics in breast cancer.My PhD was titled: NAD(P)H Quinone Oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) and NRH Quinone Oxidoreductase 2 (NQO2): Their inhibition by Triazoloacridinones and Imidazoacridinones
