I am currently an equine surgery resident at the University of Missouri. My experience working with high-level western performance and race horses has guided my interests towards orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. My research interests revolve around improving the treatment of septic arthritis. I completed a project as an intern investigating the effect of IA morphine on the efficacy of co-administered amikacin. I look forward to taking this idea further during my residency by investigating its effects in a synovitis model. Veterinary education is also important to me and I enjoy not only teaching students but also supporting clients, support staff and referring veterinarians.
