Dr. Mike Patterson is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics oversees our Alabaster location. He has been instrumental in the care of athletes since he started practicing medicine in 2000.Dr. Patterson is a graduate of Florida State University, where he was a defensive back under Head Coach Bobby Bowden from 1985 to 1987, and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He continued his education at The University Of Florida College Of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Patterson completed his residency in Orthopaedics at Orlando Regional in June of 1999, and went on to sub-specialize in Sports Medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham where he completed his fellowship in the summer of 2000. During his fellowship with Dr. Lawrence Lemak, he helped provide care for Auburn University, Samford University, and Miles College. In addition, Dr. Patterson has been involved with the NFL Europe League and the United Football League to provide care and rehabilitation of its athletes. Dr. Patterson also provides sports medicine coverage for Thompson Middle School, Thompson HS, Shelby County HS, Bryant HS, Kingwood Christian Academy and Chilton County Schools. Being a former Division I athlete, Dr. Patterson understands the needs of every patient, parent, and coach and knows the best and most effective manner to provide care.
