Worked on a project to determine the transcriptional requirements of U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) in Drosophila melanogaster under Dr William E. Stumph. The results of this study has been published in Journal of Biological Chemistry.Recently worked on another project to understand the biochemical mechanisms behind the recruitment of TFIIIb by DmSNAPc on a U6 promoter in Drosophila melanogaster in vitro. The manuscript has been submitted for publication to Nucleic Acids Research.

Project: Protein ligand docking and protein modeling of FBN1 protein responsible for Marfan's syndrome.Summary: Gene responsible for Marfan’s syndrome, Fibrillin -1 produces Fibrillin 1 (FBN1) protein which when mutated causes Marfan’s syndrome. Applied principles of comparative homology modeling:the choice of the target, performed BLAST, sent the selected template to the Geno3D online server for the modeling, compared the energy and the ramachandran plot of the three server model by mutating their sequence through Swiss Model Software selected the model with minimum energy than the server model as the Drug targetdrawn inhibitors against mutated FBN1 and calculated all of their propertiesFinally, had done docking by Hex 4.0 and calculated the Global minimum energy of the receptor and the ligand

Project: Comparative analysis of Open fruit juice and packaged fruit juice.Summary: The aim of the project was to test the validity of the common notion that fresh juice intake is superior in nutrient quality to the commercially manufactured juices. Microbiological culture techniques were performed to obtain bacterial growth, if any. Initial investigation of the morphology and characteristics of the bacteria grown was done using Gram staining followed by Negative staining using Nigrosine stain. The antibiotic sensitivity testing was also performed by the usage of Third generation drugs.
