The Maritime Forces Pacific Health & Wellness Team is a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing healthy behaviours within the military and civilian workforce as well as their families. Revitalized in 2012, this group developed the MARPAC Health & Wellness Strategy, consisting of five key Working Groups: Active Living, Healthy Nutrition and Weight Wellness, Social and Mental Wellness, Addiction-free Living, and Organizational Wellness. These are linked through a common Strategic Communications Working Group. Through exceptional support of MARPAC leadership, the team has over 70 people engaged in the Strategy. Through culture change, the MHWT is making exceptional strides in health promotion within the MARPAC Defence Team!

Senior medical authority for the Combined Force Maritime Component Command (CFMCC) for Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2014. CFMCC was responsible for coordinating care for both real world and exercise casualties for the 22 RIMPAC nations, which represented 25,000 personnel, more than 40 ships and submarines. The CFMCC Medical Cell was Joint team compromised of approximately 20 staff from 6 countries.

Spearheaded the revision of the Canadian Armed Forces Maintenance of Clinical Skills/Readiness Program. As well, responsible for Continuing Professional Development Program for health care providers. Senior physician responsible for the CF Health Services Training Centre as well as engaged in attraction and retention of Medical Officers. Assisted withe forecasting and management of the Medical Officer occupation.My time in this position was shortened by a deployment to Afghanistan.

This position focused on a myriad of operational medicine issues. With Canadian Forces active in southern Afghanistan, combat casualty care was a primary interest.

Coordination and delivery of primary care to Canadian Forces members and families in the Geilenkirchen, Germany and Brunssum, Netherlands was the primary responsibility. Additionally our team was responsible for coordinating casualty repatriation of injured CF service personnel through Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre and Ramstein Air Base.
