I am an experienced professional with a unique combination of instructional, technical, managerial, and leadership expertise in the delivery and implementation of instructional strategies and instructional technology practices in K-12 school settings. I have 23 years of experience in a one-to-one educational environment, consulting, adult learning, and instructional technology. My unique combination of planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, knowledge of big-picture concepts, and professional development experience, give me a strong understanding of how to approach a wide variety of instructional and non-instructional scenarios. I love working with people across the entire spectrum of a school system. I am an innovator, a team player, and a professional with a strong work ethic that I apply to everything I do. I retired as director of Instructional Technology in Henrico County Public Schools, leading a staff 38 of the most wonderful Instructional Technology Resource Teachers (ITRT) in the nation. Prior to that I worked as an educational specialist, an ITRT, and taught in the elementary and middle school classroom for 12 years. I helped develop online training websites for students, parents, and teachers as well as online software courses, Internet Safety training, data training, and websites for county administrators and leaders. I was an adjunct professor for VCU who helped implement an instructional technology certificate and masters cohort in partnership with VCU that focuses on 21st century skills and instructional technology leadership. I have done consulting work in other counties and presented nationally on 21st century skills.For the last 8 years, I have worked with 50+ districts across the country as an educational consultant, specializing in 21st century skills and instructional technology. I am a Certified Google trainer, and Adobe Express trainer, and a Microsoft Innovative Educator. I am skilled in a wide variety of online resources. I am the proud wife of Carl, mother of 4 wonderful children and 10 grandchildren. I am active in my church, The Chapel: Richmond, and active in the foreign and local missions program there. I have a wide variety of personal interests that center around my family, design, technology, and helping others.
