As a Bridging Responsible AI Research Fellow I have been funded by the AHRC to spend 18 months working with Arts Council England to lead on the development of policies and practices around AI use within ACE and the wider arts sector.

The Turing Fellowship aims to grow the data science and AI ecosystem in the UK. The Fellowship model is aimed at established researchers whose research interests align with the Turing’s Science and Innovation priorities. As well as taking part in the Turing’s interdisciplinary, and collaborative research community,fellows work in the areas of skills and public engagement.

I was appointed as a member of DCMS inaugural College of Experts in late 2021, the purpose of this role is to increase the department’s access to scientific networks and broaden its evidence base, identify key areas of research interest for the department and bolster the provision of scientific advice.The members of the college have been selected through an open and fair process to provide comprehensive expertise in support of DCMS’ portfolio and sectors and can be called upon dynamically to bring external expertise into all aspects of the department’s policy work. The college supplements existing relationships with experts, allowing the department to benefit from longer term, ongoing, systematic relationships that provide easier access to expertise when needed.The College of Experts is made up of external experts from across academia and industry and is managed by the DCMS Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) team. The CSA team is led by the Chief Scientific Adviser for DCMS.

I am based in the Institute for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship - ICCEIn this role I design and deliver cutting edge research on the impact of digital technologies on museums and cultural institutions. My work in this area has received funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and European Union, and I have partnered with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and National Gallery on major research projects in recent years.I lead on international experience within the department, sit on the Universities central Research and Enterprise Committee and am module leader for: Audience Development, Fundraising and Digital Cultures on the BA (Hons) Arts Management.
