CurrentWellbotics combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math with Mindfulness (STEAM + M). Each series of Wellbotics sessions was engineered by myself as a cancer survivor, to help children 5 to 12 years old and their families deal with medical trauma. We are now extending an invitation to children outside of the cancer community to participate. The program is designed to promote technological tinkering as a way to build resilience with topics such as but not limited to;● Coding● Robotics● Electronic Circuitrywhile also introducing mindfulness strategies to give children and families scientifically proven ways to cope with challenging situations like;● Object Awareness● Yoga● Mantra MeditationThe Wellbotics experience promotes connections through teamwork. Research shows that groups of children working together to solve problems create a catalyst for both increased cognition and deeper emotional connection. Wellbotics allows children to meet challenges that involve designing, making, and programming robots. Participants learn problem solving as well as enhance their critical thinking skills that they can also apply in other areas of their lives, while having fun in a stress free setting.Who We Work With: Community organizations that serve children that are facing cancer or trauma are invited to contact me to more about Wellbotics. Partnerships and pop-ups are being scheduled for 2018 and Reach to Teach is offering organizations the chance to preview the program by welcoming up to ten participants per week to try the program.
