I am an award-winning communications and creative industries University educator who has managed and delivered high-impact teaching outcomes in higher Ed, sector-leading public engagement strategies, and educational leadership and governance over a 20+year career at Western Sydney University. Currently Area Convenor for Creative Industries (2024). Previously Associate Dean | Engagement (2020-2023) and Director of Academic Program | Creative Industries, Screen Media and Communication (2018-2020).My pedagogical practice is grounded in co-created industry engaged curricula initiatives that draw on my deep connection to Western Sydney's vibrant and dynamic arts and cultural communities, and my entrepreneurial approach to building impactful learning experiences. This work has been recognised with multiple teaching awards including an HCA Excellence in Partnership Pedagogies award (2021), a Vice Chancellor's Excellence Award for Learning and Teaching (2015), a Vice Chancellor's Professional Development Scholarship (2015), a Vice Chancellor's Excellence Award for Postgraduate Training and Supervision (highly commended, 2014), and two Western Sydney University Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (2013 and 2014). I've also been recognised internationally for excellence in industry and community engagement, receiving the 2023 Excellence in Regional Engagement award at the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) annual conference in Budapest.
