Dr. Rosane Oliveira is the founder of the Plant-Based Life Foundation, an international nonprofit with a mission to educate and empower people to live happier and healthier lives through positive habit change that includes the adoption of a plant-centered diet and the development of daily wellness practices. The Foundation is the culmination of a lifelong journey in which she has combined a passion for nutrition with 25 years of genetics research, studying, among others, cancer initiation and progression, and how the food we eat can change gene expression to either cause disease or promote health and longevity.

Dr. Rosane Oliveira was the Founding Director of the first UC Davis Integrative Medicine Program, where she created a 10-week Lifestyle Medicine Elective at the School of Medicine and a Grand Rounds lecture series that resulted in dozens of physicians, staff, and students making the transition to a plant-centered diet.During her time at UC Davis, she published a #1 Amazon bestseller cookbook, The Four Foods Cookbook, and ran an annual 21-Day Plant-Based Challenge that gave nearly 150,000 individuals across 60 countries the chance to try out plant-based eating for 3 weeks in a supportive community. She also created online courses and programs designed to provide people with the strategy, mindset and support needed to develop and maintain healthy habits for a lifetime.

Dr. Rosane Oliveira performed gene expression analyses in developmental biology to understand embryogenesis and placenta formation in in vitro fertilization (IVF) and somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) clones. She also collaborated in long-term nutritional genomics experiments exploring the effect of a high-fat diet on increased risk of metabolic diseases.

Dr. Rosane Oliveira developed RNA interference (RNAi) protocols in conjunction with microarray technology to elucidate gene networks and pathways related to retroviral cell transformation and leukemogenesis.

Research Associate at United States Army Medical Research Unit (USAMRU/WRAIR), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Rosane Oliveira performed molecular studies to identify genes related to chloroquine resistance in the Malaria-causing parasite Plasmodium falciparum as well as genes responsible for visceralization of Leishmaniosis.
