Profile bio

About Sally Broder, Psy.D.

I specialize in trauma and addictive disorders in adolescents and adults, including veterans and law enforcement Those that have been supported through traumatic events on multiple levels: family, social support and community, can come through to the other side without crippling effects.Without the support I am speaking of, individuals and families tend to break off into unhealthy patterns of coping, like drug and alcohol and other addictions, and end up in self-destructive cycles. My aim is to help people identify what is holding them back, keeping them stuck and sapping them of precious energy. With support, knowledge and renewed psychic energy, transformations are quite possible. The main age group I work with are young adults up through 30 years old (although my practice is not limited to this age group). I work often with substance abuse issues and these cross over with trauma and issues of depression and anxiety. I create specific treatment plans and options to move young people out of destructive patterns. Specialties: My experience is varied across cultures and class. I work with adults and adolescents; issues ranging from trauma to depression to substance use. Specialization in issues of professional athletes. Extensive experience with the criminal justice system working on both sides-both offenders and issues of law enforcement personnel. I have over 20 years experience with these professions.I also have specific training in PTS and TBI and so work with many veterans and their families who suffer the after effects of involvement with present and past wars.

Listed skills include Group Therapy, Psychotherapy, Mental Health, Cbt, and 46 others.
